1st October 2008 I move from Italy to US / California
10th December 2008 I move to North Carolina
25th December 2009 I get engaged
23rd June 2010 Ex cheats & breaks up with me
20th August 2010 I move to Georgia / Columbus
16th October 2010 I get my Driving license
18th October 2010 I start working at McDonalds
7th November 2010 I get my car (with financial help from parents)
12th November 2010 I move to Greenville
25th January 2011 I start working at M....lle
12th February 2011 I’m “adopted” by a cat (still debatable)
3rd April 2011 I meet the first of 4 wonderful people
1st August 2011 I’m officially hired at my current workplace.

Last Saturday I suddenly realized~ I had friends, people who actually care about me!

One friend even gifted me with a $100 HobbyLobby gift card!

On 26th August feeling a bit down, I decided to stop by the store after work.

I hadn't been able to splurge on myself for a while being very money conscious so having someone treat me for no other reason that friendship really touched me.

I spent a full hour looking through every isle, picking crafting supplies for my next projects, randomly grabbing things that struck my fancy.

When I got back I realized I'd unconsciously purchased pieces that combined turned into this lovely centerpiece!

PS I still have nearly half the amount left on the gift card!

I recently realized I haven't updated in ages~ and yet have continued crafting while slowly improving on my Life.

I'm happy to say I've been an office lady since the end of January and, while my car is still a lemon draining my finances, I now have a social Life and am in Atlanta every other weekend.

In fact I've been thinking of setting my next goal towards Atlanta which as a metropolis has more to offer in way of employment, salary, social, education, entertainment, ect.
Let's face it, I really do live in the middle of nowwhere and even the town I work at has nothing to offer. I don't want to "make due" like certain people; at least this isn't my version of "making due". What I have now, I won't progress~ I'll just stay where I'm at. I know Atlanta has more to offer. And I know I can do better~ I think I've proven that already.
So I'm going be updating my resume, hand it to friends and toss it online ect. I know it'll take some time to find a job but I'm in no hurry. I'm not setting ETA because it wouldn't be realistic. But I just can't just sit around waiting for something to happen if I don't start it first, right?

Anyway please enjoy what I've created the past few months:

I apologize for not having kept my blog updated since October.

Although I have crafted, though not as intensively. I even took some of my creations to a certain type of Con but only sold three.

On 13th November I moved in with a couple of friends after having been kicked out by The Harpy.

I got a job transfer to a McD closer to my new home (obviously will start searching for a better job after the holidays). I have a car to get there and occasionally give co-workers rides. Yes, I like doing good deeds. And I wouldn't be where I'm living now if it weren't for others' good deed.

I lost a friend and am the better for it as I find out more and more what type of person she really is.

I have a couple of Mentors helping me in the Lifestyle.

I have good people looking out for me.

I'm still unsure where my Life is heading. I try to make the most of the positives and live through the negatives with hopes of a better Future.

And am naive enough to wish for True Love (no more cheap imitations for me!) starting 2011 but am wise enough to not actively search for it- I have too much on my plate as is trying to work on myself to go out Hunting. Besides, They say Love comes when you least expect it, right?

I want to experience and explore as much as possible while trying to sort through my Life and keeping the promises I made myself when I moved to Georgia. So far I've kept two out of three main ones, one of which thanks to my parents.

I am hopeful..!

Life is (slowly) improving

No new crafting update because I've been trying to get my life on track; I got my driving license and found a temporary job at McDonald's (which isn't half as bad as expected, probably because I'm at the cash register and not in the kitchen).

I'm planning on getting a car within the next month or so thanks to my parents and move closer to Atlanta since I'm told being a metropolis there are more and better job opportunities.

I would like to take the time to THANK my awesome friends without whom I wouldn't be able to make it, or at least keep my sanity. They give me the strength to go on in spite of what Life (and others) have been throwing me. Love you guys!

Life is (finally!) improving

No new crafting update because I've been pleasantly busy working on my social life.

I'm very pleased to inform I now have a great fun best friend who not only brings happiness + fun to my Life but also helps me be more level minded instead of allowing my feelings to rule me. In fact I'd go so far as to credit her or at least her positive influence for the now quite improved relationship with The Harpy.

I've also had a chance to meet an outgoing, relaxed, fun, and dynamic group whose welcomed me right away. Can't wait for the next meetup!

As far as employment goes, I had an interview on Friday and have another tomorrow and although neither is very promising I still consider it a good sign. It's only a matter of time before I find something decent considering all the application forms I've filled out and the many employment agencies I've joined.

And if push comes to shove I'll take a holiday job if even to keep busy and replenish my very diminished funds.

I've accomplished so much in such short time, some of which The Ex promised but didn't keep his word.
- moved to another State and slowly getting my Life together
- bought new glasses+ slippers
- went to munches and party with friends
- made good honest dependable friends
- had many meaningful conversations with different people
- ate out often
- enjoyed the surrounding area (Pine Hills, Callaway Gardens, ect)
- have experienced new things and explored new places
- got "Work Ready" certified

I wonder what else I'll be able to do and experience next month, I can't wait to find out!

I had to craft this plush for my host's coworker's baby shower.

Nothing much to report. Filled out more application forms, visited a few employment agencies, received the "Work Ready" certificate (paper version). I'm hoping all my efforts pay off soon, especially considering I'm having a very hard time in GA with my hosts, specifically the female one who Friday went on a half hour rant listing imagined faults she attributes to me, including me being the cause of the tension in the house when I'm only reacting to her vibes (I'm a tad empathic).

It's pretty obvious in spite of the other subjects brought up during The Rant the real reason behind it and her attitude toward me is, she feels threatened by me but is not honest enough to admit it. I've never given her any real substantial reason to feel this animosity toward me.

It's clear she's made me her new target (her husband must be so relieved) and will blame me for just about anything. I've never in my life been accused of so many wrongdoings, not even as a child. My own parents never complained so much about me and I lived with them for 30yrs. I've been in GA barely a month and The Harpy has a whole laundry-list of fictional faults she attributes to me.
I honestly don't know what to do. I'm so upset and worried about the situation I was feeling physically ill this evening and had to take an aspirin.
And I can't help blaming The Ex; if I hadn't met him and moved in with him to NC who knows where I'd be and with whom right now.

Until this Rant I was actually in a better place, realized recently that I've slowly started feeling better even if my Life is still on hold and I don't have a job yet. I felt somewhat more optimistic. I think The Ex is finally behind me (it's been 4 months after all, 1 of which in GA).

Now I honestly don't know how to react or what to do with the hosts. I'm in such an awkward disadvantaged position. It feels like I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't whatever I choose.

Please, if anyone has advice or suggestions send them my way...

I know it's still early for Halloween but my female host apparently loves decorating for the holidays and I thought this plush would make a good (birthday) addition to her collection.

I've been in Columbus (GA) for nearly a month now and don't have much to show for it, except most of my belongings in boxes in the attic and a constant heart-ache with deep loneliness.

I've filled out many online job application forms, passed the written test for driving license (road test is in October), got my "Work Ready" certificate, opened an account at the local credit union, have new phone + number, am waiting for my new glasses + contacts, got my GA Id card.

I've searched online for local (hobbies & singles) clubs and volunteer work so I can do something with my free time and socialize.

I joined a few dating sites.

So far I haven't found a job or club nor have a made a friend. It's rather depressing, really. Even though I'm told it will take time, I'm ready for Life to start NOW and it's so frustrating to be held back by circumstances.

But I really am trying very hard (more than I ever have in my life) on all fronts so nobody can claim I've failed for lack of motivation.

Surely Karma will turn around in my favor soon?

In July I gave Melanie a new faceup, coolcats eyechips & eye lashes.

I'm hoping to get her an obitsu body some time soon, her original body is too floppy.

A SecondLife acquaintance suggested to ask my readers if they would be interested in buying my creations (on Ebay instead of Etsy), maybe offer commissions as well- like the one I did in July for an online friend.

What do you think? Would you be interested?

Obviously considering the move and its consequences I honestly don't know when I'll be posting again, let alone craft but I'll try to continue. I've come a long way in my hobby and would hate to neglect it.

On 29th July I finally found the proof I needed that showed he'd been lying & cheating on me before the official breakup dated 23rd June, possibly as long as 2-3 months.

He didn't even mourn the end of our relationship before jumping into a new one. That itself shows how little I meant to him.

Don't worry, I'm not hurt anymore. I'm just disgusted by his overall conduct (+ trying to go back on his word to provide some funds, transportation & shipping my belongings, he's also been slandering me, of course).

You can be sure once I'm in Georgia I'll cut all contacts from him. What a sorry excuse of a guy!

I'm just very relieved I didn't find out in even worse circumstances.

Now I'm ready to start my brand new drama-free life in Columbus (GA)- just one week to go!

Oh how circumstances & feelings change as the Truth surfaces!

So many things have happened since I last posted but the most important is, I now know The Truth and have decided to move on- specifically to Columbus (GA) where I'll be staying with family friends until I'm able to stand on my own.

I'm learning many Life lessons in just these few weeks...

I already learnt that I shouldn't trust someone completely, to be financially and car independent before hooking up with anyone, not depend on anyone, don't take rings or meeting his/her parents as a guarantee to a future together, always have my own "contingency plan" for the unexpected, don't pause your life for anyone, don't believe in promises...

I will try very hard not to fail or disappoint the Trust everyone has on me, including my online friends who have stuck by me when everyone else in RL hadn't.

Many have pointed out I have a lightness, naiveness and trust in the World and its people that is enviable and allows me to see everything around me in a positive Light.

I am myself and don't want to be influenced negatively by the experiences Life has in store for me.

So I will try to face everything with head held high and trust in my eyes, believing there is a reason for everything and the Gods have Someone Special awaiting around the corner.

I'm not sure when I'll be posting, my life is currently chaotic and my creative mode hiccups randomly as I slowly pack my belongings while struggling to keep up my school grades.

I apologize for the delay in posting but I've been going through the worse days of my life...

He broke up with me on 23rd June 2010 because he's going through a depression phase that is causing him to go emotionally numb toward everyone, he's obviously not reasoning soundly yet states firmly he feels deep down even when he gets out of this phase he knows things won't go back to the way they were. Yet he so badly want to be friends because "I DO care about u and what happens to u".

I pretty much left my country to be with him; true, I made the choice a few months before meeting him online but it was through him that I had the courage to board that plane and later risk my family's disapproval to move in with him.

We'd made plans, set a wedding date, even chose our future children's names.

And now 2yrs into the relationship with 6 months of engagement later... I find myself dumped into another crossroads of Life with only two options to choose from: either I try to make the best of things here, wait until we have a car (ours died the day he broke up with me), get a job, try to build my own life then he leaves me everything (rented house, contents and cats) or I go back to Italy. In either case I have to start from scratch.

Oh but there's another more final alternative to end this whole mess and especially the pain...

Right now I'm trying to make sense of this mess that is currently my life while my heart breaks each second and my soul screams in pain... so please forgive me if there are long delays in blog update...

Lately I've been reminiscing while watching old anime themes (in Italian) from my childhood which have inspired me with new ideas. I'm in a crafting frenzy which also leaves me drained by the end of the day but oh what satisfaction!

Mom's visit went very well, in fact better than we expected and we were really sorry to see her go. Summer Semester started last week. We're still rather broke but fortunately I've enough material for the next projects such as giving my Pullip a make-over and creating game related plushies for my fiance and his nephew.

Btw did anyone else notice the plush patterns now sold in Walmart? I was drooling! I want to try to get ahold of some when we have the extra cash.

Note: I learnt a new type of stitching called BlanketStitching thanks to the Wacky Ducky pattern; to be honest I think it would stand out more in a single colored fabric especially when using a thread color which is different from the fabric color. Ah well, learn from your mistakes and all that...

He was made in felt as a present for a friend who'll be moving to another town soon.

The past week I've been rather busy with homework and crafting a present for Mother's Day.

Fortunately as of today I'm two subjects away from the end of this Semester and am ready to deliver my present.

What did I make, you want to know? Three cute baskets of felt fruit!

I figured it'd be a good gift that'll last throughout the year without worrying about the fruit rotting. My fiance reassures me mom will love it, I honestly hope so, I spent so much time and effort on it!

Funky Turtle

It's a present for a friend's birthday, I think she liked it :)

Fortunately I've completely recovered from the flu & stomach virus.

Too bad the weather's been moody lately but then again it IS April and as the saying goes "April showers bring May flowers".

Yesterday my fiance started planting in our future vegetable garden.

Today I planted Morning Glory (pink & blue), Alyssum, Forget-me-not, Columbine & Marigold seeds. Here's hoping some of them sprout!

Two weeks left to the end of the school semester.

Unfortunately the summer semester starts right after which means no respite and last night I was told summer semester is usually crammed with homework, sigh.

I hope I survive it and still be able to enjoy Summer!

Long time no see!

As mentioned previously, I was busy making Easter/Spring treats for my fiance's family while working on homework and battling against a bad flu accompanied by stomach virus.

Not one of my best months but at least I managed to survive it in spite of some personal issues.

Two changes I want to mention are:

1) my Etsy Shop is no more- I decided to close it for lack of sells. I realized there are way too many crafters attempting to sell their merchandise and rather than try to compete with them I'll just proceed at my own pace. If you're interested in something, please feel free to contact me;

2) you will not be reading or seeing anything to do with RainbowProject anymore- we've had a bad falling out due to her lack of consistency. My being physically sick + fed up with her prevented me from continuing to be patiently diplomatic.

To be honest, I get lonely when I'm home alone and am on the pc most of the time (crafting or homework) but I'm tired of these crazies... 3 out of 3... I'm giving up on finding someone sane to relate to online.

Why is it so hard to find "sanity" online?

At least I was lucky to find my fiance' thanks to the Internet...

Froggie servant?

I was inspired by the main character in the wacky anime "Sgt. Frog".

This felt plush has velcro on his hands so he can hang on to things, like the vacuum!

I wanted to reassure my readers I'm still alive here in NC.

The reason I haven't posted anything new is because... I haven't really made anything new except this frog & a dress for my new bjd.

This month I'll be mainly busy making Easter treats for Family.

Since my fiance's mother plans to visit us to meet my mom who'll be staying with us a week in May, I wanted to give her some plushes to take back to the rest of the family so I'll be making a couple of Kirby plushes (apparently a favourite game character in my fiance's family) and a couple of birdies.

I already prepared a cute Easter basket with a chick and bunny (with some chocolates) for my fiance's adopted mother and will do the same for his real one.

All this while I continue with my online college classes & improving the house- talk about busy, phew!

Pretear's Tyipi

This little guy is the one that started the round plush birdies collection (see previous post).

He was completed before the duckling & chick but I decided to post him now instead.

Tyipi is a mascot in the anime "New Legend of Snow White Pretear".

It's pretty simple to create as long as you know how to make a round plush.

I added a little sack of rice to its bottom so it would stay upright (the drawback of round plushes).

The curly feather on top is actually a pink pipecleaner glued on the inside while the beak is made in foam.

I'm rather pleased by the result as it's identical to the original and life-sized at that!

Unfortunately Spring Break is over and not much was accomplished except more plushes but no improvements around the house because of lack of funds.

Hopefully we'll be able to do some work around the house before my mom visits in May.

Obviously I'll be busy with homework once again but will try to continue my crafting at a regular pace.

Btw I'm a tad disappointed nobody commented on my previous two posts :(

Duckling & chick

These adorable duckling & chick are handmade in felt.

They're my original creation and are perfect for Spring and Easter season!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm on Spring Break this week and planning to make the most of it.

Though currently we're not sure if we'll be able to afford buying paint for the living room walls.

We're having a bit of a dry spell which is a pity, we have so many renovations/improvements to do on the house.

I'd also like to purchase some new eyes & lashes for my Pullip- does anyone know where I can purchase them at reasonable prices?

Don't get me wrong, I love Melanie but have come to realize her face is rather bland, especially compared to other Pullips.

The only makeup she has is the bright red lipstick and a light orange eyeliner so I plan to give her a slight make-over as soon as I can afford it. Fortunately I already have sealer MSC.

These yummy Peeps are handmade in felt.

And the best part is, they're always here and don't run the risk of disappearing in my tummy!

Yes, I admit it. I have a weakness for these marshmallow candies though I prefer the Easter version.

For some reason I find Easter Peeps taste better than Valentine's, Halloween & Christmas Peeps. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Wikipedia explains "although the original Peeps were standard marshmallow flavor, some of the newer flavors include chocolate mousse (bunnies for Easter, cats for Halloween, reindeer for Christmas), strawberry and vanilla (hearts for Valentine's Day), cocoa (cats and bats for Halloween), sugar cookie (gingerbread people for Christmas), and orange (eggs for Easter)".

Guess that explains it, it's not my taste buds going wonky.

Call me traditionalist but I prefer the standard marshmallow flavor.

Platypus Arturo was handmade in felt as a present for my Beloved ♥

My fiance likes pudgy platypus to the point it's his staff-member character on the M.U.D., a multi-user real-time virtual world described entirely in text (aka text-based role-playing) so I made him a related plush using felt & polyfil with rice as stuffing.

Special thanks for RainbowProject for the eyes.

No, a platypus is NOT a make-believe creature.

In case some of you don't know, a Platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal living in eastern Australia.

A simple search on Google or Wikipedia will provide you with more info & images of this very original creature who baffled European naturalists when they first encountered it.

Our computer room is filled with plushes but fortunately they're characters my fiance likes so I don't feel too bad giving them to him. He especially likes the ones I make (*blush*).

I realize his opinion may be biased but his enthusiasm and positive feedback spur me into creating more :)

After today we are officially on Spring Break and it seems the weather is agreeing!

I don't know about you but I always feel so much better and crafty when it's sunny!

Hopefully we'll be able to paint the living room walls next week & convince our bitchy cat Sakura the outdoors are better for all of us, Spring is nearly here and spurs us into action!

I think we can certainly say I've overcome the creative slump I was in the past few weeks, thank goodness!

I still have to work around school but have already started on some Easter Projects which I hope to be able to show you sometime this week.

I'm still somewhat in a creative slump and having to keep up to date with homework.

I've been making clothes for my dolls: Hotaru has a Valentine's Day related outfit & Tobby is dressed as Cupid (his outfit is nearly complete, I need to make him a bow).

I'll try to post pictures as soon as possible.

I've recently adopted the gorgeous doll you see in the picture for whom I've made kitty ears (I also made a white version).

Hazuki and the cake are both early Birthday presents from my fiance.

Mythical Horses

Finally finished this project I've been working on for almost a week using old Barbie horses my friend Wendy gave me a few months ago.

Admittedly it didn't take too long to make the foam wings but the clay horn was tricky. It took 3 tries before I was satisfied.

Details such as red eyes & golden horn+hooves needed at least 3/4 layers of acrylic paint.

I don't recommend using sealer MSC on these kind of products, it had a strange effect on the unicorn's hooves which you fortunately can't see in the picture.

Lately I've been in a creative stump.

I'm having a hard time scraping for will and energy, yet my mind is crowded with projects. Perhaps I've been over-filling my days with school and craft (and occasional house work) to the point of exhaustion. I guess I need to find a better way to compromise everything.

But in spite of it all I still managed to make this yummy strawberry (pattern & tutorial by Ku) cocktail and have another project or two on the works.

I've somewhat decided to try to make bomboniere for my Wedding using the crafting book "My Favorite Felt Sweets" by Joie Staff I plan to purchase soon.

In Italian tradition, Bomboniere are gifts given out on special occasions to guests.

Bomboniere usually come with Jordan almonds though I'm not sure I'll be able to attach them to the felt sweets/cakes I plan to give to our guests.

Fortunately I've still more than a year of time and crafting doesn't usually take much time, moreover I plan to give 1 Bomboniera per each couple.

Though Bomboniere are not part of American culture I decided to import them, giving my wedding a touch of my Italian heritage. I'm sure our guests will love them!

Felt Food

All items are hand made in felt.

Details are painted with fabric paint using a toothpick as a brush, the cheeks are in chalk pastels.

I haven't had much time to dedicate to my hobby because of homework but I still felt the urge to create, even if something simple.

Hopefully once I get used to the load of weekly homework I can find a routine which will allow me to continue with my hobbies.

Yesterday we dropped off 7 Angel Bunnies in Lucama (NC) as part of The Toy Society project.

Btw my first two drops were recorded on The Toy Society site!

Yesterday I received my Tobby from Ajumapama earlier than expected.

He's so tiny (about 13cm) and adorable!

I want to make a little bag to carry him around my neck and a bed (which he'll share with Ginger from Pipos) in theme with his mythological origins (Tobby is a brownie fairy).

Right now he seems rather cozy resting on Melanie's lap :)

On a side note, my fiance & I have decided on our wedding date: if all goes well it should be on 24th September 2011.

We'd like to go to Disney World Florida on our honeymoon.

The Toy Society

As you can see I've been VERY busy with The Toy Society project I've recently joined.

I made these 10 bunnies to leave in as many places next time my Beloved is off work this week.

I hope each will warm someone's heart or give them a smile!

I've also cut felt for 10 more bunnies and plan to ask a friend working at Social Services to give them out to her "best customers" as part of The Toy Society idea.

And another 10 bunnies will be found in my Etsy Shop within the end of the month.

Do you think they will sell?

In order to avoid burning myself out on bunnies, I decided to take a small break from them.

Now that we finally have a printer I've printed out many different patterns I found online.

I can't wait to start using them!

I also plan to make a frog plush for my Beloved's adopted mother using the fabric she gave me.

I hope she likes it!

I still need to make a cute dress for my fabric doll and work on my BJD dolls.

Today I sent layway payment for a beige Ringo Pipos I hope to adopt by the end of February.

I've been drooling after a kitty Pipos for nearly 2 years!

I'm also expecting to receive my Tobby from Ajumapama by my Birthday in February.

I bet he's even cuter in person!

As you know I've recently started College and though the classes are online the amount of work is almost over-whelming.

So far I'm holding up and trying to keep ahead so I can continue my crafting without scrambling to catch up with school work.

The Toy Society

Today I want to write about a very beautiful and altruistic initiative I want to join.

It's called The Toy Society, a small project all about spreading love around the world with handmade toy gifts for strangers.

It started as a small street art project in Australia and is slowly spreading around the world.

When you sign up you get an email with all the instructions including a link with the letter to attach to the toy.

When a toy is found, it's hoped the finder will send a note to the society so they know where the toys end up.

Even if some people take ages to reply I think just knowing you've warmed someone's heart or given someone a smile with a small gesture is enough to spur any crafter into joining such a project.

I like the idea so much I've already decided I want to make at least 10 of my Angel Bunnies.

I chose the bunnies because they're simple so I can make many in less time. They're also cute+springlike which is always nice in Winter. I'll make them in different colors and materials.

My Beloved and I already came up with as many places to leave them at (once you start thinking of places it's hard to stop).

I decided to leave them in places where people are... needy, to brighten up their day.

Don't you think it's a lovely project?

I had tears in my eyes reading the emails of people who found the toys from the Project...

So I'll be working on this Project for the next few days then when I'm done I'll return to my personal ones.

I still need to make a cute dress for my fabric doll, after all!

Btw as of yesterday I'm officially a College student so though all my classes are online they'll take precedence over crafting.

Therefore please be patient as I won't have as much time to dedicate to my hobbies.

Pullip/Obitsu Hybrid Sophie

Sophie used to be a mini Pullip called "Little Principessa".

When I purchased her I didn't know how small she would be nor how much she would lack articulation (impulsive shopper? lol!)

Her original 4.5 inches body was replaced with a 23cm Obitsu with the help of my Beloved.

She was too pale & gothic (corpse say anything to you?) for my taste so I touched up her face-up using pink pastels for blush + eyeshadow & acrylic paint for the lips. Everything was fixed with Sealer MSC & gloss for lips + eye rims.

Sophie is holding a felt Mofy Bunny which as you know was made by me.

I've also been working on a fabric doll (yes, sometimes I'm a multi-tasker).

Though she's part of an "Easy-to-do Fairy Doll Making Kit" I only used the body.

I already made the face & applied "Mini Quick Curls Doll Hair" but now she's too "sophisticated" for her original "simple" fairy outfit so I'll have to make her a better dress, hopefully on Wednesday.

Mofy Rabbit

This adorable felt bunny is only 6cm, just the right size for a dollie!

The details are painted with fabric paint using a toothpick as a brush.

This plush is inspired by Mofy, the bunny created by Aki Kondo.

I made this bunny for my "Little Principessa" as an apology for leaving her so long without a body.

Her new 23cm Obitsu body has been ready for her mini Pullip head for months but I had trouble getting ahold of sealer MSC. Then I had to work on a 12plush commission and random presents so I couldn't do anything till now.

I've started touching up her face-up, she was too pale & gothic for my taste.

I want to make my own Mamachapp using Obitsu pieces.

I need to fix my J-doll's faceup which was slightly marred while trying to replace her body.

Hopefully soon I'll be able to order Obitsu parts to make a better version of Chii from Chobits for whom I've already found lovely sexy outfits on Ebay.

I was hoping to start working on Valentine's Day Project to sell on Etsy but I've neglected my dollie hobby too long so for now I want to concentrate on it.

Don't worry though! It shouldn't take me long and as this is my creative blog you can be sure it'll be updated with pictures of all my work, dollie related included.

Yikes, so many projects and not enough time!

Pillows

For Christmas My Beloved requested a neck pillow and something cushiony for his pc chair.

His adopted mother gave me two pieces of cloth & an old neck pillow.

This is what happens when I put my creativity to use!

He was VERY impressed stating it looks so professional he wouldn't have noticed it's made with two different fabrics if I hadn't told him.

I was rather surprised by the result myself but then it was a very important project, I wanted to do justice to the fabric given to me by his adopted mother with which she had planned to make a pillow for her son (my Beloved's best friend)- she never got the chance, he died in May 2009...

As you can imagine, my Beloved is a bit of a nerd.

He's been wanting something cushiony for his "throne" so I made a couple of pillow cases using brown flannel.

My Beloved loves sinking in it.

I wouldn't be surprised if I found him snoozing on his chair one night!

The last project before Christmas is another Angel made especially for my Beloved's adopted family in memory of their late son.

Then I'll be taking the rest of this week off to relax and enjoy presents. I think I deserve it!

Angel for Tree

In spite of recent distractions, I managed to finish this little angel I've been trying to work on for the past few days and I must admit she turned out adorably cute!

As you can tell I drew inspiration from a Christmas card seen at Walmart to create this angel in my style.

The felt body is hollow so you can put the angel on the very top of the tree.

The book cover & pages + halo & wings are made in foam.

Now all we need is to set the tree & put her on top of it!

Yesterday my Beloved's adopted mother commissioned me 2 whole "Xmas Plush Collection" sets!

She phoned me twice to stress how adorable they are and how well they add the Christmas cheer to her home.

It made me feel so happy to hear her enthusiasm!

Though I also have to admit I feel a tad overwhelmed by the work load I now have with a short deadline.

At least this way I'll have more money to spend on presents for my Beloved so the sooner I get started, the sooner I finish & the sooner I can order his presents online in time for Christmas!

Time to start working in chain production again!

Mythical Encounter in PullipLand

I've been a bit sidetracked lately between my Beloved being home for nearly 3 straight days (I don't do much crafting when he's around preferring to be with him instead) and spending time with his adopted mother who not only bought four pieces of my "Xmas Plush Collection" but was so generous to offer me a delicious breakfast and allowed me to tag along to Rocky Mount yesterday, getting me lots of craft supplies at Michael's!

She also showed me a video by "Uncommon Thread" on how to make a GingerBread House from felt which I'm hoping to work on sometime after the holidays.

Thanks to her sweet gestures I purchased a couple of Christmas presents for my Beloved from ThinkGeek.com & now have enough supplies to proceed with my crafts!

In the meantime today I took advantage of the rare winter sun to make a small photoshoot of my Pullip "Little Red Riding Hood" renamed Melanie.

Melanie was a VERY fortunate find, a combination of good luck & bartering. She was missing her feet, didn't have her stock clothes & apparently the ends of her hair were coarse from brushing & age but at $30 she was well worth it!

I managed to purchase feet & stock clothes for cheap on Dolly Market Forum and fixed her tummy pop & hair using RequiemArt's tutorials.

In the end I spent around $50 for a doll which was selling new for nearly $200 on Ebay!

She's a lovely doll with expressive green eyes and my first official Pullip whom I love dearly!

Between one thing and another, I've been trying to work on an angel (inspired by another card seen at Walmart) to put on top of the tree my Beloved's adopted mother lent us.

Monday I finally managed to get ahold of a can of the infamous sealer MSC so I can start working on touching up my "Mini Principessa" and replacing her body with a 23cm Obitsu.

I also want to make my own Mamachapp using Obitsu pieces and need to fix my J-doll's faceup which was slightly marred while trying to replace her body.

I also hope to start working on Valentine's Day Project to sell on Etsy starting January.

Yikes, so many projects and not enough time!

I hope I don't burn myself out!

NOTE: Tomorrow is our 1st year anniversary!

One year tomorrow I moved in with my Beloved whom I'd met online in July.

I've never regretted my decision!

I can't believe one year has already gone by, it sure doesn't feel like it!

Unfortunately he has to work all day but I plan to cook him dinner, bake him a cake & finally give him the present I made him a month ago. I can't wait to see his face when he opens the package!

Christmas Stockings 2009

We purchased these stockings at the Dollar Tree last year planning to decorated them but the products we used didn't work well with the fabric & smeared.

This year I decided to give it another try and, after cleaning them up, I carefully customized them with felt & wool using my plush pattern.

My Beloved was very pleased by this early Christmas present (*smiles*)

Now we just need to figure out where to hang them & fill them up!

Sackboy

I've been wanting to make this adorable character from the PS game "LittleBigPlanet" for a while, I finally completed him yesterday!

SackBoy is made with brown flannel carefully double stitched and the zipper is in foam.

I must admit I had some problems creating him because of the fabric: flannel is more elastic than felt and I'm not used to it, so I had trouble making/keeping the shapes.

In fact I had to remake the head twice and even now I'm not entirely satisfied with it.

Of course we're also our own worse critics- my Beloved absolutely loves his new game related plush and thinks it perfect which is all I need to continue with my crafting (*smile*)

Since it's now officially Christmas season I thought it appropriate to make SackBoy his own felt Santa hat, which he seems to like.

Even Kirby is wearing one!

I'm not sure what my next creation will be.

I have to post-pone my projects to work on my Beloved's Christmas Presents from his Wish List which I'm still waiting to receive so I can get started.

So many things to do and so little time!

Btw when will they make "LittleBigPlanet" for Wii??

Note: I'll be remaking 4 characters from the "Xmas Plush Collection" for my Etsy Shop because my Beloved's adopted mother bought them yesterday.

Considering nobody here has showed interest enough to purchase them I don't think it'll be a problem...

I've been giving it some thought and decided to anticipate the GiveAway ending date to 15th December instead of Christmas, mainly because I have the impression everyone is waiting to see if they've won the GiveAway before purchasing anything from my Etsy Shop.

Moreover by the time the GiveAway is finished Christmas would've already passed and the plushies wouldn't be seasonal anymore.

I also have to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed.

I apologize for not wishing everyone "HAPPY THANKSGIVING!" on Thursday but I was caught up with the celebrations & feasting.

I've been wanting to make a plush Ponyo ever since seeing the movie, another adorable Miyazaki masterpiece.

Ponyo was made with felt, her wool hair is hot-glued piece by piece & she has googly eyes.

My Beloved was so impressed with the plush he stated it looks like the original & suggested trying to sell one on Etsy.

New "Xmas Plush Collection" set is complete & ready for selling- once I've opened my Etsy shop & gotten padded envelopes (hopefully within the next couple of days).

Oh the relief, I've finally finished the plushies in time for the Holidays and without burning myself out!

I must admit they turned out cuter than the first set.

In fact I'm currently touching up the first set based on the second one.

Water Lily

Freshly made this morning with one of the patterns I worked on 15th November.

I studied both Water Lily & Poinsettia and realized I couldn't use the same pattern for both flowers.

Note: I think some felt flowers would look better with yellow beads as pistils.

I might try with other patterns if I find the right beads.

Busy working on Etsy projects

I'm sorry but this time I have no new creation to post about.

The past couple of days I've been working in chain production style nearly non stop on a new Xmas Plush Collection I'm hoping to sell on Etsy at the beginning of December.

Needless to say I'm very tired at the moment, in fact I'll admit I feel a tad burned out with the result of two failed plushes, sigh.

Since I started my crafting it's become a routine to have felt & needle constantly in my hands at any moment.

But the down side is, it's easy to get either overwhelmed with all the projects on my mind or burned out trying to bring them to life.

It's gotten to the point whenever I take a much needed break I feel like I'm wasting time and my fingers itch for action.

Thanksgiving is just a week away and I want to make a turkey & scarecrow by then.

Right after is Christmas season, I need to make stockings for my Beloved+his nephew+niece and think of something for the rest of family & friends.

And let's not forget the random projects running through my mind, like creating a Ponyo plush (of which I made the pattern this morning) or finding the right Ddung to customize.

Phew, time doesn't seem enough!

On a positive note, thanks to my Beloved this afternoon I ordered an adorable Felix Brownie named Tobby.

Unfortunately he'll be arriving around the time of my Birthday in February.

Patience is not my strong point!

I also got a Doll Making Kit from Amazon because I've been wanting to make a Bunka for a while and all my attempts have failed so far.

Felt is very easy to work with, other fabrics are not and a felt Bunka wouldn't be the same. That's not to say I won't eventually graduate to cloth but at the moment I'm sticking with felt.

I'm still a beginner with these crafts, everything is completely hand made & sewed and in some cases the details are painted with fabric paint using a toothpick. So you see everything is made with lots of patience+love and of course take time+effort.

I hope having an Etsy shop won't turn a hobby into a boring job.

To prevent this, I'll take occasional breaks either from crafting or from working on Etsy items.

My creativity needs the occasional spur of freedom.

Anyway it's been a long two days and I'm going to take a short break now.

Moon Flower

Ever since adopting my Ddung Doll from Ebay I've been wanting to take her picture with MoonFlowers.

Unfortunately a bad freeze killed our plants in October before Hotaru reached her new home.

When I started making patterns for felt flowers I immediately decided I had to make a MoonFlower for Hotaru.

As you can tell from the pictures Hotaru seems to like the flower!

Gingerbread Men

I tried to touch up my Gingerbread Man Plush

1) is first one I made (see Plush post);

2) is the same as before with modified eyes;

3) is new pattern

I would ask which do you think is better but honestly the only difference between them is the fact that the pattern was changed from 2 pieces to 1 and I used more felt than fabric paint for the details.

I think I'm going to make a Xmas Plush Collection set to sell on Etsy based on the new 1piece pattern.

Wonder if anyone is interested?

This is my first attempt of a gingerbread man based on a very simple pattern made to look like Gingy from "Shrek"

I'm not very satisfied so I may redo him, maybe with the new pattern and less fabric paint. What do you think?

Poinsettia

Yesterday I worked on different patterns for felt flowers I plan to make, starting with a Poinsettia to remain in the Christmas spirit.

I think it would make a lovely candle holder or coaster.

I may add golden sprinkles to it.

Note: Poinsettia is known as "Christmas Star" in Italy, how appropriate!

I think the same pattern can be used for a Water Lily as long as lighter colored felts (example pink or cream) are used for the petals and the leaf pattern is changed.

Xmas Plush Collection

Since funds are too scarce I thought of making Christmas presents for our friends & family.

I also figured hand-made presents would be appreciated more than bought ones.

I drew inspiration from a set of Christmas cards seen at Walmart to create my Xmas Plush Collection in my style.

They were heartly approved by my Beloved (who decided to keep the Reindeer) & a couple of online friends. I really hope they'll also be liked by their future owners.

This morning I decided I should try making another set and selling each plush separately on Etsy & following Barbara's advice promoting it on a blog.

So here I am!

I'm also planning on making Xmas stockings for my Beloved's niece & nephew.

My Beloved made the delicious butterscotch+peanut butter covered Lackey Chow Mein Noodles which Kirby seemed to enjoy as much as I did!

In October I made a plush Teddie for my Beloved based on one of his favourite games.

I haven't given it to him yet, I'm waiting for the right moment ;)

In September I created this Pixel Art for my Beloved based on his favourite oldie Game characters which are now decorating the walls of our Computer Room.

Each character was made with 1x1cm foam squares hand cut & applied with hot glue to white cardboard.

Amigurumi gone wrong?

Before befriending me, I'd admired KnittingTurnip's work for a while even adding her to my Flickr and tried her GiveAway.

I don't know how to crochet but I really wanted one of her amigurumi so I tried making one of my own in the only way I know.

Unfortunately they got out of my control and turned completely different (*sweat-drop*)

Around the end of September I started creating felt items initially for my dolls.

When I made my first pumpkin (6.5x3.5cm) I felt an immense satisfaction at the result, more so when my Beloved mistook it for a real one after viewing a mobile picture.

I made more in different sizes & colors soon filling the whole desk with them, lol! Now they're in the living room giving it a more colorful Fall theme along with plastic leaves attached to the walls.

Then I decided to make presents (pumpkins for the ladies & candy bags for the children) for my Beloved's family to deliver when we visited on 23+24+25 October.

It was a success which encouraged me to continue with my crafting.

Five days ago I met a wonderful girl KnittingTurnip with whom I made fast friendship which I hope will last for a good while.

Ever since she's been spurring me to sell my felt plushies, advicing to start a blog to promote my future Etsy Shop so here I am trying again after my failed attempt this Summer with a little texture shop on SecondLife.

I poured all my time and effort into it but I only managed to sell one set out of 32.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was, also considering the money spent uploading each image on SL.

But everyone's been so encouraging and enthusiastic about my RealLife creations that this morning I decided I should try making another Xmas Plush Collection set and selling each plush separately on Etsy & following Barbara's advice promoting my work on a blog.

So here I am!

I'll admit I draw inspiration also from other people's work.

I really can't afford to buy the originals so I try to make them myself customizing them to my taste.

I wouldn't consider it copying, especially since I don't have a printer so any pattern I find online I have to hand-draw on paper. Moreover like I stated previously I customize any pattern I find.

Lately I've graduated to making my own patterns which is highly satisfying.

KnittingTurnip suggested I try selling patterns but personally I rather sell finished products, also to prevent being copied.

I apologize for the double standards but I'd rather people at least make an effort in copying me without my help.

Anyway I'll stop blabbering & start with the slide show.
